It’s quiet here

The jokes have dried,

The voices fade,

And silence remains.

Lone behind a smile’s wall,

Crying out a voiceless call,

Away from me! No! Stay…

It’s quiet here,

Beneath it all.

It’s quiet in my soul.

Whimpering softly in the cold,

Held by nothing,

Fading slow.

A whisper whirls in voiceless winds,

Of sinking deep and falling in,

Silence takes it all.

It’s hurting now.

It always is.

It’s silent in my soul.
